Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Signr collects, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to run the service and to be clear about how it is used.
Who we are
Signr is a hiring and job-search platform (“Signr”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Signr is available as a website at signrhq.com, and as an optional browser extension. This policy applies to all of these surfaces.
For the purposes of applicable privacy laws — including Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) — Signr is the controller of the personal information described here. If you have any questions, you can reach us at privacy@signrhq.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. Your email address and a securely hashed password when you create an account. We never store your password in plain text. If you sign in with a one-time email link, we store the tokens needed to verify that link.
- Profile information. Details you add to your profile, such as your name, headline, location, work history, skills, and any other content you choose to include.
- Resumes and hiring content. Resumes or CVs you upload, job descriptions, requisitions, screening criteria, comparisons, and notes you create while evaluating candidates or roles.
- Messages and connections. Messages you send through Signr, the people and companies you save or connect with, and related relationship history.
- Contact and notification preferences. If you opt in to text-message notifications, the phone number you provide and your notification settings.
- Payments and payouts. If you make or receive payments through Signr, the information needed to process them. Card and bank details are handled by our third-party payment processor — we do not store full payment card numbers. We retain records of transactions, charges, earnings, and payout history.
- Support and other communications. The contents of support requests and other messages you send to us.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and usage data. Basic technical information such as your browser type, device, approximate location derived from your IP address, pages you view, and actions you take in the product. This helps us keep the service working and understand how it is used.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Small files and browser storage used to keep you signed in and — with your permission — to measure usage and attribute marketing. See Cookies & similar technologies.
- Analytics and diagnostics. We record first-party usage events and, where you consent, send measurement events to Google Analytics. We also receive automatic security reports (for example, content-security-policy reports) that help us detect problems.
Information from other sources
- Identity verification. If you verify a LinkedIn profile, we receive confirmation that you control that profile through LinkedIn’s sign-in process.
- Publicly available professional information. To power features such as profile overlays, saved profiles, and screening, Signr may collect and store publicly available professional information (for example, public profile and job-post details) from professional and job-listing sites you view while using our extension.
- Referrals. If you arrive through a referral, we record the referral so we can attribute it and apply any associated rewards.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Signr service and its features.
- Create and secure your account and verify your identity.
- Power core features such as resume screening, job-to-candidate comparisons, recommendations, messaging, and profile overlays.
- Process payments, payouts, referrals, and related records.
- Send you transactional messages (for example, sign-in links, verification, and notifications you’ve enabled).
- Measure and understand usage so we can improve the product, where you have consented to analytics.
- Show and measure marketing and advertising, where you have consented.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Where the law requires a legal basis (such as under the GDPR), we rely on performing our contract with you, your consent (which you can withdraw), our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and compliance with legal obligations.
The Signr browser extension
The Signr browser extension is optional. When installed, it runs on supported professional and job-listing sites to provide features such as the profile overlay, identity verification, and direct messaging. To do this, it reads content on the pages you view on those sites and may store publicly available professional information so you can use it inside Signr (for example, saved profiles or screening inputs).
The extension uses browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your settings. It only activates on the sites listed in its permissions, and you can remove it at any time from your browser.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and afterward only as long as necessary to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Some operational data (such as logs and analytics artifacts) is kept for a shorter period and is minimized or redacted where practical. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal information:
- Access and portability — request a copy of your data.
- Correction — fix inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your account and personal information.
- Consent — withdraw consent for optional analytics or marketing at any time.
- Objection and restriction — object to or limit certain processing.
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny you service for exercising these rights.
You can update much of your information and manage your privacy choices directly in your account settings. To make any other request, email us at privacy@signrhq.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
How we protect information
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest for stored data, hashed passwords, access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit who can access it.
International data transfers
Signr is operated from Canada and uses service providers that may process and store information in other countries, including the United States. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy and applicable law.
Children’s privacy
Signr is intended for working professionals and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of Signr after an update means you accept the revised policy.
